The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) promotes wind energy as a clean source of electricity for consumers around the world. It is a national trade association representing wind power project developers, equipment suppliers, services providers, parts manufacturers, utilities, researchers, and others involved in the wind industry - one of the world's fastest growing energy industries. In addition, AWEA represents hundreds of wind energy advocates from around the world.

In June 2007, AWEA held its annual meeting, WINDPOWER 2007, which drew over 6,000 participants from around the world. This meeting, held in Los Angeles this year, was featured in the Los Angeles Times of 6 June 2007.
The Interwest Energy Alliance is a regional partner organization of AWEA.
